Pitso Mosimane Sends Message to Mzansi As Soweto Multipurpose Sports Facility is Renamed After Him

• The Pitso Mosimane multipurpose sports facility is set to be inaugurated in Soweto
• Nedbank, Orlando Pirates, and The Sports Trust have partnered for this initiative
• The facility is intended to uplift football development for girls and boys in Orlando

Former Bafana Bafana coach, Pitso Mosimane has confirmed he has touched down in Soweto.

A brand-new multipurpose sports facility, which is to be renamed in his honour, will be unveiled at the Lofentse Girls High School for the community on September 5.

The repurposed facility, which boasts seven multipurpose courts and will include about 1,050 training kits, will be made available for young girls and boys from the area.

The project is an initiative of Nedbank, PSL side Orlando Pirates, and The Sports Trust, which will allow the youth to use state-of-the-art ultra-modern facilities to hone their talents.

Confirming his attendance at the official unveiling, Mosimane disclosed that he was in town for the inauguration of the facilities. The 59-year-old wrote on social media:

"I have touched down on home soil [and] as part of this year’s 2023 Nedbank Cup campaign, I’ve been given the opportunity to inaugurate a multipurpose sports court at Lofentse Girls High School."

The legendary South African coach reiterated the purpose of the facility, to uplift the level of football development for both girls and boys in Orlando.

Sharing an aerial footage of the premises on their official X account (formerly Twitter), Nedbank stated:

"We are at the Lofentse Girls High School, where we will be unveiling the brand-new Pitso Mosimane multipurpose sports facility for the community of Soweto."

Mosimane celebrates wife on her birthday

Sports Brief also reported on Pitso Mosimane celebrating his wife's birthday on September 3, sharing photos of the celebration with his beloved Moira and their family and friends.

The former Al-Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns manager took to Instagram to share pictures of the occasion as they came together to celebrate his wife's birthday in grand style.

Nhlanhla Mafu, one of the founding members of the legendary group Mafikizolo, was also present at the event, with Mosimane appreciating her for coming to celebrate with them.
